La Mandria, a Park worth discovering from May to December 2010

Trekking

Hiking is the best way to visit the park, to discover the secret face of timeless nature, to enjoy its silence, to listen to its voices and to breathe its fragrances.

The springtime awakening, the summer light, the colors of autumn and the peaceful winter landscape make the park unique in every moment of the year.

The proposals of the Park are di_erent in length, but all are of medium di_ culty.

Outdoor clothing and packed lunch are necessary.

The Skylark Hour. Hiking at down

a charming early morning trek to observe animals that normally roam the park at night returning to their burrows.

Coach

The Medieval Mandria by coach

Guided tour of the church frescoes of San Giuliano, and to the ruins of the Castellaccio and other sites in this zone related to the medieval period of The Mandria and of the ancient Viscontado Baratonia.

You will be fascinated by the wellpreserved frescoes of the _ fteenth century and the history of the village of Druento.

Regally, slow visit by coach.

The great and long history of Mandria will be told during a slow and long trip by coach. The coach will stop at the Borgo Castello to visit the Royal Apartments and at the medieval village Rubianetta to visit the church of San Giuliano.

The sightseeing will end up by tasting ancient recipes at the teaching restaurant Cascina Prato Pascolo.

Train

The TIP- interpark train - is a more comfortable way to visit the Park throughout the year. Covered, heated and ventilated, the Tip has 37 seats and a pneumatic platform for disabled persons.

Fabulous Neo-Gothic building, once the hunting lodge of the King.

Bike

In the Mandria park there are dozens of kilometers of car-free roads, where it’s easy to cycle immersed in the wild.

At the Prato Pascolo farm there is a bike rental service. Bikes for children or with child’s seats are also available. Special bikes for disable persons are free of charge.
